What Above Board is

Above Board is an independent verification standard for creator agencies, TikTok LIVE networks and webcam studios. It publishes a standard, runs audits against it, and keeps a public register that anyone can search to see what was and was not checked.

Two marks sit on one ladder. Above Board Reviewed is a desk review of an agency's public website only (public disclosures only; contracts and payouts not audited). Agency Verified and Studio Certified are independent audits of contracts, payouts and account control, and are the only marks with a checkmark. The register lists only agencies that applied; any other business shows as Not certified.

Figures we have published

• We read 262 creator agency websites (found through public agency directories, roundups, search results and registries).
• 24% name a registered company. 31% state their commission. 11% say when creators are paid.
• None of the 262 showed all six items we check: legal company name, commission, contract length and exit terms, when creators are paid, real contact details, and no red-flag claims.

Method, limits and the aggregate data are on the research page. It is not a random sample and an automated read can miss things, so the figures may understate what sites disclose. An earlier version of that page cited different figures; we withdrew them because we could not reproduce them, and the page carries a correction note. We never publish findings about individual agencies.
