Know your rights / Check an agency

How to check if an OnlyFans agency is legit.

Seven checks you can do in an afternoon, before you sign anything and before you hand over access to your account.

  1. Ask for the legal company name and country. A real agency can name the registered company you would be contracting with. Look that company up in the public company register of its country.
  2. Get the commission in writing. Ask for the percentage and what it is calculated on: gross fan spend, or what is left after the platform's fee. Put your numbers into the commission calculator.
  3. Read the contract before any call to sign. Ask for the full contract, not a summary. Run it through the contract checker, which works in your browser and uploads nothing.
  4. Check who controls your accounts. You should keep your own login, email, two-factor codes and payout details. If an agency wants them, read the page on account access.
  5. Ask when and how you are paid. A clear agency says when you are paid (a date or cycle) and who pays you: the platform directly, or the agency.
  6. Check the exit. Look for the contract length, the notice period and any penalty for leaving. A fair exit can be explained in one sentence.
  7. Search the register. Search the Above Board register for the agency. It lists only agencies that applied for a seal, so no result says nothing about an agency; a result shows exactly what was and was not checked.

What “legit” does and does not mean

There is no single licence for creator agencies, so “legit” is something you check yourself. A legit agency tells you who it is, what it takes, what you are signing and how you leave, before you commit. The checks below take little time and most of them are free.

A professional-looking website is not evidence. In our reading of 262 creator agency websites, only 24% named a registered company and 31% stated their commission. That is why the questions matter more than the design.

What to do if an answer is vague

  • Ask again in writing and keep the reply.
  • If the answer is still vague, treat that as the answer.
  • Never sign under time pressure or hand over a password to “get started”.

Questions

Is there an official list of legitimate OnlyFans agencies?
No official list exists. The Above Board register lists only agencies that applied for a seal and shows what was and was not checked; an agency that is not listed has simply not applied.
Can I check an agency's company registration myself?
Yes. Ask the agency for its legal company name and country, then search the public company register of that country. The name, address and status should match what the agency told you.
What if an agency refuses to put its commission in writing?
That is a reason to stop. A commission that is not written down cannot be checked later.
