TikTok LIVE agencies: what to ask before you join.
Many LIVE hosts join an agency or network for support and bonuses. Before you do, you should understand who is paid what, and when.
What an agency or network usually does
Agencies and networks recruit and support hosts: schedules, coaching, events and bonuses. In return they usually take a share of what the platform pays for your LIVE activity. The arrangement is a contract between you and the agency, so what it says matters.
Questions to ask
- Who is the registered company I would be joining, and in which country?
- What exactly is the share, and what is it calculated on?
- Who is paid first, the platform to me or the platform to the agency, and when do I receive my money?
- Is there a minimum number of hours or a target, and what happens if I miss it?
- What is the contract term, and how do I leave?
- Do I keep control of my own account and login?
Red flags
- Fines or penalties for missed hours or targets.
- Money owed to you that is “held” without a date for payment.
- No written share or payout schedule.
- Pressure to buy coins or to “top up” to unlock bonuses.
- Asking for your password or access to your account.
Questions
Do I need an agency to go LIVE on TikTok?
No. An agency is an optional arrangement; compare what it offers with what you would earn and manage on your own.
How are TikTok LIVE hosts paid through an agency?
It depends on the agency's contract, so ask. The key questions are who receives the platform payout, what share you keep, and the date you are paid.
Can I leave a TikTok LIVE agency?
That depends on your contract. Check the term, notice period and penalties before you join.
